Burn Ban Continues

7/17 – current predictions are now showing the burn ban will last at least through Monday July 20th. The data is being watched daily for fire conditions and also weather (this is a daily thing Chief does). Currently weather predictions show rain Monday night into Tuesday morning. But only one half inch. This likely will not be enough moisture to make it for safe burning.

For those who ask me how I know when to stop permitting burning.

On a normal “low danger” day the FWI (fire weather index) is 1.0-8.0. This mornings FWI is at 26.3, Saturday shows 32.2, Sunday 19, Monday is 35.2 Many equations effect this.
